HPE Buys Premier AWS Consulting Firm

Cloud Technology Partners, a name that you may have heard in the cloud landscape, has been snapped up by HPE. The consulting firm offered specialized AWS consulting services, with over 200 employees.

The Boston based CTP helped end users migrate, innovate, and operate in the cloud.

And now Hewlett Packard Enterprise, with this acquisition, will use this expertise to bolster its hybrid IT prowess. The experience Cloud Technology Partners has in leveraging IoT, big data, and machine learning, HPE says, will help it to build new and disruptive cloud solutions.

In the words of Ana Pinczuk, senior vice president and general manager of HPE Pointnext:

“Together with CTP, we will provide customers with the ability to move quickly, build new innovative digital experiences, simply manage and forecast IT costs, and ensure the applications running their business stay secure.”

The buyout was announced Tuesday, though terms of the deal have not yet been disclosed.

CTP was founded in 2010, and has witnessed rapid growth these last couple of years. According to its LinkedIn profile, the company went to 200 employees, up from the 104 it had two years ago, and 154 this time last year.

In addition to enjoying a strong partnership with Amazon Web Services, CTP also launched a managed cloud control offering for AWS users this April to continuously monitor cloud spending and adhere to compliance frameworks.

The company also unveiled Cloud Kickstart for AWS this July

HPE intends to make Cloud Technology Partners part of HPE Pointnext, which handles advisory, professional and advisory services.
