It’s been a while since we’ve heard from Veaam, but AWS data protection provider has started 2018 with a bang after acquiring N2WS. Also known as N2W Software.
Last we heard from the Switzerland-based developer of cloud backup and virtual environment management software was when the company had amped up its offering of continuous data protection backups on the Amazon cloud.
This time around, the firm has something similar to add to its portfolio of solutions, which offer availability of any app, any data, across any cloud.
The largest acquisition in its 11-year life is an all-cash $42.5 million affair.
And the buyout is of a company based in Wilmington, Delaware. N2WS was founded in 2012, and is known for developing customized cloud-native solutions that transition servers, applications, and data into cloud environments.
Cloud Protection Manager, its first product, is considered a pioneering enterprise-class data protection solution for Amazon EC2.
As Peter McKay, Co-CEO and President at Veeam reveals, this is a game changer:
“As enterprises look to migrate more workloads to the public cloud, having a robust and intuitive data protection and Availability solution is imperative. By combining Veeam’s industry-leading capabilities in protecting virtual, physical and cloud environments with N2WS’ leadership in AWS data protection, we have a strong solution to deliver on the needs of the digital enterprise.
N2WS has experienced incredible growth in the last 12 months and it will continue to operate as a standalone business to best position the company to provide AWS data protection – the same way Veeam transformed protection for VMware environments a decade ago. Together, we will achieve great things; this is a game-changer in every sense!”
N2Ws was already on a solid growth path, but it will now get access to the ecosystem of alliances and partners in the Veeam ecosystem — including 55,000 resellers and 18,000 cloud service providers.
Expect the 102% revenue growth in 2017 by N2Ws to be easily surpassed this year, As the company will keep its brand name, and operate as a standalone company.
